The Guided Path

The Guided Path
This piece serves as “Summer” in my first four seasons series in large format (Winter: A Quiet Faith, Spring: Around the Riverbend Autumn: Comfort’s Embrace). Maybe it’s because my formative years were strongly influenced by Disney’s Pocahontas but I have always felt a strong pull toward what I believe is my personal journey. I know that when I’m incredibly terrified by something it’s probably the decision I need to make. I know that it will challenge me and bring me through to a side of me that is stronger, smarter, and more myself. This painting is a symbol of a decision just like the kind I’m talking about. This was the first large painting completed inside my very first studio space and it felt very aligned to title it “The Guided Path” as a symbol of the possibility of where that path was headed.
