Rooted in Hope

Rooted in Hope
This painting is a revisit to another that I did back in February titled “Seeds of Hope”. At the time, I was ruminating on the state of things in the world and trying to pull myself out of a dark mental place. It’s easy to get lost in thoughts and headlines in the news but when I brought myself into nature and remembered that the world is so much bigger than a few bad people in power. It’s the birds in the trees building their nests and singing their songs. It’s sun shining through the branches and the crisp air against my face. It’s the friends we make along the way and the ones we give a helping hand to. One walk and painting meditation took me out of my darkness and planted seeds of hope. 9 months later I decided to take a revisit and I found myself feeling grounded and still very grateful to be walking in this life Rooted in Hope.
This framed original watercolor & ink painting is mounted on archival museum mounting board using archival water activated linen hinging tape. 1/8” spacers are placed between the glass and the art protecting it from direct contact with the glass and allowing for the full deckled edge of the paper to show. This highlights the beauty of the handmade watercolor paper.
